Wild mammals sheltered in the care center of Kinkajou Association are mostly wounded and/or orphan animals.

We also rescue wild mammals seized by Authorities, being an alternative to euthanasia.

Basically, we intervene in all situations involving wild mammals in difficulty, on demand of persons or Authorities.

The Center's latest news:

August 04 2007: Kinkajou was contacted to find a new home for a tamandua living so far on the EDF (Electricity of France Cie) site of Degrad des Cannes. The little ant eater was captured and freed in the forest on the same day. A big thank you to EDF on behalf of the tamandua, now living in a much more tamandua-friendly place!

The saïmiri found on a road side by Margot, beginning of August 07 didn't make it through. We think the little mammal was quiet old as he was suffering of cataract. He also had bad tooth didn't allow him to feed correctly.

Back to the woods:
The abused brown capuchin was able to heal at the Care Center. He is now back to monkeys' real world.

So long, little giant anteater

On June 20, we had the sadness to loose "our" baby giant anteater.

bébé capucin brun
Arrived on March 20th 2007, the orphan brown capuchin is growing up in the Center.
